    Abby is a tutor who specializes in English language arts, history and humanities, math and science for ages 4-14, and yoga. She has been teaching for 10 years and enjoys tutoring because of the constant surprises, need for creativity, and the ability to see results in real time as her students progress. She has a TEFL 120 hours certification, a BA in Sociology from the University of Washington, Seattle, USA and an E-RYT 500 hours Yoga certification. Abby uses a variety of tactics to help students develop self-confidence in learning, including determining the student's preferred learning method and relating new topics to things that are already familiar to them. She also provides positive and constructive feedback as needed and follows a trauma informed approach to ensure that students feel seen and respected. Some of the common challenges students encounter in tutoring sessions include feeling frustrated, comparing themselves to peers, being bored, and difficulty staying engaged. The most fulfilling part of tutoring for Abby is seeing her students' progress from their first to last session, as well as seeing them pass exams and get promotions. She believes that JBE Tutoring is different from other tutoring work she has done as it is more tailored to individual students' needs, and is more personal and friendly.     Dani Ella is a dedicated and experienced tutor who has been teaching for many years. She is originally from New Jersey and of Egyptian origin. Dani Ella specializes in subjects such as algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, English, history and also offers tutoring in Spanish and Arabic. Dani Ella's passion for tutoring comes from her love of kids and her desire to build their confidence in their academic abilities. She finds it extremely fulfilling when she sees her students succeed and retain the knowledge they've learned with her. What sets the experience apart from her other tutoring work is that JBE students tend to be more intrinsically motivated and dedicated to their academic journey.     Daniella Hoffman is a highly experienced and certified teacher with over 23 years of experience in the field. She is originally from the USA, and is fluent in five languages. Daniella specializes in tutoring ESL, Spanish, Math, Science, Social Studies, and ELA. She found JBE Tutoring through a close friend, Johanna, who is also a teacher with JBE. Daniella has a Masters in Education, and is certified to teach pre-k through 8th grade. Daniella's approach to tutoring is highly personalized and focuses on building self-confidence in her students. She lets her students know how important they are to her and praises them highly when they execute a skill they’ve been working on. Daniella also tries to ease her student’s nerves by getting to know them and finding something they have in common. Daniella is married to her best friend for 22 years, and they have four incredible teenagers who are paving their own paths in this world. She enjoys spending time with her family and they love watching movies, playing games, doing outdoor activities and going to the beaches together.

    Donna, one of our esteemed tutors from Dumont NJ, has been teaching for over 30 years in public and private settings. She really enjoys working with children and using her educational background to help her students succeed. She creates charts, games and activities to allow her students to thrive. One thing that Donna does to personalize each session is by keeping a notebook for every student and writing down notes during their lesson. This helps her reference the notes to make sure she’s addressing each student and their unique learning style as well as incorporating their interests into each lesson.     Meet Dave, one JBE’s incredible tutors. Dave is from Oradell, NJ and graduated with a Mathematics degree. His favorite food is Chicken Parm, and he collects baseball and football cards. Dave’s most fulfilling part of being a tutor is hearing when a student did well on a test. Dave helps students gain the most from their tutoring session by making sure that each student is working on the area that needs improvement, in a way that is tailor made for them to succeed. He makes sure the sessions are individually set up for what that student's weakness is.

    David is a tutor from Cincinnati, Ohio who specializes in middle and high school mathematics, high school physical science, physics, and statistics. He has been teaching for several years and enjoys tutoring because it allows him to help students see the connections in the material, which he believes is crucial to understanding. He has a double major B.S degree in mathematics and statistics with a minor in English and a graduate degree in M.A in teaching and an M.S in mathematics.     Elizabeth is a certified English tutor, originally from Iowa. She has been teaching for several years and specializes in ESL, enrichment, conversational practice, interview prep, and professional English. She finds joy in building relationships with her students and giving them the tools they need to be successful in language learning. She particularly enjoys the one-on-one nature of tutoring and the ability to customize lessons to each student's needs.     Eryn is a wife and mother of two who lives outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Eryn has a BA in Environmental Science and Earth Science Education and a MEd in Educational Strategies and Development. She has 10 years of experience teaching Earth Science in a traditional classroom and has taught English online for two years. Eryn truly enjoys helping students learn! Teaching to small groups makes it possible to tailor lessons to student interests and questions in order to make lessons interesting for each class. Positive reinforcement it is a big part of Eryn's classes to help students build their self-confidence. She believes that every success deserves recognition, even if it is as simple as a virtual high five.     Helen was born in Brooklyn, New York and is a mother of two. After graduating high school, she attended a six-month kibbutz ulpan program in Israel. Helen was a legal assistant at some of New York’s top 100 law firms. Over the course of 20+ years, she had the good fortune to work with prestigious, well- known, high-profile clients, courts, officers of national and international companies. Also, mastered the various disciplines of law: patent and trademark, corporate business, real estate and white-collar litigation. Helen began her amazing second career as an English teacher, teaching English as a second language at some of Israel’s top language schools: Open University, Berlitz, private colleges and TriEnglish. Most importantly, to have had some part in helping students of all ages and at all levels, (the military and hi tech) advance their communication skills both personally and professionally.     Jon is a California state certified social science teacher with over 18 years of experience teaching both in the classroom and online, he is highly qualified in California to teach math, science, and English, and holds a 120-Hour TESOL certificate. Jon is originally from Buffalo, NY and has worked with thousands of students since he began teaching in 2005, including English Language Learners, those who are gifted and talented, those with IEPs, and those who have 504. Since 2019, he has taught almost 5,000 one-on-one or small group online tutoring sessions in all subjects to students between the ages of 3 and 18 who live all over the world. Before 2019, he worked at an independent study charter school in San Diego for eleven years where he taught all subjects to students in grades 6-12.     Kathryn grew up moving around the US and parts of Asia because her dad was in the US Marines. She graduated high school in Okinawa, Japan and her family is originally from Texas. She tutors math and science subjects like calculus, algebra, chemistry, biology, and physics, and has a degree in biomedical engineering. Kathryn originally planned to work in a lab, but after a few semesters, she found it wasn't for her and started a tutoring business in college instead. She believes that making mistakes is a natural part of the learning process and helps students build self-confidence. She has noticed that lack of focus is a common challenge for students and finds it fulfilling when students master the material and do well on exams. Matthew holds a BA in Political Science and Fine Art from SUNY Albany and a TESOL Certificate from TEFL International. Some fun facts about Natalie is that she would love to explore Europe, in her free time she can be found writing, reading or listening to music. She has been teaching for 7 years, and loves tutoring because of her passion to help others.     Meet Sherri, a respected tutor at JBE Tutor, who has been teaching full-time for 18 years, working with students in elementary and middle school. In addition to this, she has been working with high school students tutoring them or teaching SAT and ACT test preparation. She enjoys working with all ages whether it is teaching reading and writing or improving conversational skills in English. Her philosophy is that patience and guidance in conjunction with good teaching leads to student success. It is like a recipe, sometimes it needs an adjustment of the ingredients.
